We are proud to announce the release of the Handbook for Deaf Studies with Deaf Young People — a complete companion guide that is now freely available to educators, youth workers, NGOs and the Deaf community.
Across 128 pages, the handbook brings together the Deaf Studies concept, lesson plans and video materials in one place. It guides you through all 20 workshops (10 modules of two sub-modules each) — from Deaf culture and history, through sign language and mental health, to Deaf rights, education and the arts.
While the curriculum offers ready-to-use presentations and worksheets, the handbook gives the whole programme its framework — explaining why each topic matters and how to lead it in practice.
The handbook is freely available to download, read and print.
Educators, youth workers and Deaf community leaders can use the handbook in workshops, classrooms and educational programmes — on its own or alongside the curriculum.
