Launch of our new project: Deaf Culture, Heritage and Diversity

We’re excited to kick off our new project “Deaf Culture, Heritage and Diversity”! This initiative is all about bringing Deaf Studies closer to deaf young people and youth workers.

Why is this important? Too often, young people only learn about Deaf culture by chance—maybe through school or from an interpreter. That’s a shame, because Deaf culture, heritage, and diversity are key parts of identity and pride. When young people become more aware of this, it gives them strength: they can better understand their background and take a stronger place in society.

Through this project, we want to support and train deaf youth workers. They are closest to young people and play a crucial role in passing on knowledge about Deaf culture, history, and language. Together we’ll create workshops, trainings, and creative materials that truly connect with young people’s lives.

In the coming months, we’ll be working on meetings, trainings, and the development of learning materials and sign language videos. We’ll share every step of our journey right here on the website.
